Think Visibility Conference Preview
I’ve been meaning to write this blog post since I bought my ticket a month ago but things have just been so busy lately. So before I go to bed tonight I’m finally going to blog about it and explain why I’m giving up a day off to go to a work conference.
Well thats technically a bit of a lie, I’m fortunate enough to love my job and all the research and learning that goes with it. So I’m not really seeing it as “working”.
So why am I going to Think Visibility?
After the last Think Visibility earlier this year I read a number of blog posts about the event and it got some great reviews from some people I respect a lot in the industry. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard that it was being run until after the event. I then found out that tickets were being sold at a fraction of the price of the usual SEO conferences such as SES or SMX.
So when I read that Think Visibility was coming around again I made sure I got a ticket, plus with a nice discount it made the decision even more of a no brainer. There are some great speakers covering a decent range of subjects, many of which I’m particularly interested in. I also like how some of the speakers are not that well known and the whole conference has a friendly feel to it.
Who I’m particularly looking forward to seeing…
Joost de Valk – I’ve been following his blog for a while now as well as implementing some of the great Google Analytics tweaks and filters he has talked about. He is covering how best to use the features of WordPress to get the best possible results from SEO campaigns.
Judith Lewis – I’ve read a few posts by Judith on SEO chicks but apart from that I don’t know a great deal about her. She does seem to know her stuff and I’m very much looking forward to hearing her talk about Google Universal Search. This is something I’ve been looking at a lot lately so I’m really interested to hear ideas and opinions on this.
Zoe Piper – Again I’d never really heard of Zoe before I saw her on the lineup, but the subject she is talking about is another one I’ve been looking into over the past few months. The Google Adwords content network has always got away from me a little and I know I’m missing a trick or two in leveraging it for client sites. So Zoe’s presentation on this is a highlight for me.
I’m not totally decided on which other presentations to go to yet as a few occur at the same time. I’m sure I’ll come away from the event with a lot of extra knowledge and hopefully a few new friends as well.
I’ll of course post about the event sometime next week and include some highlights. If there is anyone else going feel free to send me a message on Twitter and poke me on the day
