Google Testing New AdWords Display
Following on from moving the AdWords listing to the left slightly so that they are no longer aligned to the right of the screen. Google now seem to be testing displayed more than one product link under one Ad, similar to the sitelinks they started displaying on organic results.
I came across this by accident really searching for “sheds” online and noticed this -

Google were also testing a similar AdWords feature where a user could choose to expand results from a certain Ad if they wanted, this seems to be a step on from that. What do you guys think?
I can’t image this working very well if rolled out to more advertisers, the results would just look far too cluttered. If Google only allow certain advertisers to use this feature, what criteria are they using to select them? Monthly spend? Account history? Quality score? Either way I don’t think this can be done for all advertisers.
Seems like it may be time to call your Google Account manager to see if testing is open to more advertisers!
Update: I just ran the same search again and got the results displayed in the right instead -

Looks even worse to me! I’m really not keen on this new look but we’ll wait and see how many advertisers are testing this and if it stays around for very long.
