Google Analytics Individual Qualification (IQ)

I really like Google Analytics, sure its not as powerful as some web analytics tools out there but if you take it for what it is – a free tool which is very easy to use, with a decent level of support, then its great.   I’m always reading articles on how to drill down deeper into the stats to get a better insight into a website and what really happens between a user arriving on the site and leaving.

So I’m very happy to read about the introduction of the Google Analytics Individual Qualification which was announced by Google earlier today in this press release.

I think this is a great idea not only for individuals who just want to learn more about how to use Google Analyitcs, but also for people like myself who work with Analytics every day.  I think I’ve got a decent level of knowledge of Google Analytics, not an expert by any means.  So this IQ will give me the chance to see how good (or bad!) I am and hopefully get a qualification which clients can refer to when they are looking for help with Google Analytics.

Short blog post for today, its a little late and the football is on so this is short and sweet!  If you are one of other Twitter addicts out there feel free to take a look at my profile and follow me on Twitter.

I think that this is a great addition for anyone who is looking to add some legitimacy to their business.

It is easy to tell people you know about analytics and adwords but if you can show them the certificate from Google then that should carry some weight.

If they give you a certificate you could get it printed and framed and put on the wall of the room where you meet clients, or on the bog wall ?

We could do with something to read on the bog wall :)

Yes I think its a great addition to any company or individual, there are so many people who claim to be experts in Google Analytics so it will be good to have some kind of standard that people have to adhere to.
