Travelling to New Zealand

After my amazing Canyon Adventure of September 2008, I’ve set myself a target to do at least one big adventure every year to some far off land.  Well, far from the UK anyway!  So after quite a bit of thinking and a bit of a nudge from my surrogate big sister Emma, we’ve decided to do a few weeks travelling in New Zealand.

We are a bit undecided yet as to exactly how we are going around travel this fantastic country or if we are going to stop anywhere else along the way, but we’ve pretty much decided to go in November this year which is end of Spring/start of Summer in New Zealand.  From what I have read, the weather in New Zealand in a little temperamental so we will certainly be packing plenty of warm/waterproof clothes.

By the looks of it we are currently looking at this tour from a company called Oz Exposure.  It was their sister company that I went to America with last year and had a great time.  I like the idea of going on a tour with like minded people as you can make some great friends on the way and bond as a group.  The other option is for us to hire a car and make our own way around the islands of New Zealand which I’ve been told is pretty easy because there aren’t that many roads in New Zealand.

What most people see as a downside of travelling from the UK to New Zealand – the 25 hour flight – I actually like.  I love the idea of going to somewhere that is so far away from home.  I also really like the option of stopping on the way back in great cities such as Sydney, Hong Kong or Syngapore.  Depends on the flight we get as to our options on this but very exciting
